The Law of Attraction influences the course of our lives. Regardless of the fact of whether we are aware of it or not, it determines the course of our destinies. It is, therefore, very beneficial for us to fully understand its principles, be able to accept them and integrate them in our lives. This law can contribute to the improvement our lives and can successfully bring us to where we want to be.
The Law of Attraction is a universal law and it basically states that like attracts like.
The theory behind the law of attraction is the belief that energy attracts like energy. Each person, as an entity comprised of energy in different forms, is constantly radiating this energy out into space. Our bodies and mind are energy. The type of energy being radiated is determined by the emotional state of the individual and may differ on a day-to-day, sometimes even on an hour-to-hour basis!
Thie emotional energy is what is commonly known as a vibration, and is also accepted by scientists studying the law of attraction. A happy person is someone who seems to be radiating a glow which inspires liveliness and good feelings in others around him. A critical, frustrated, and unhappy individual is someone who consistently gives off negative vibrations. This low level of energetic vibration not only influences their own being, but it also lowers the liveliness, happiness, and energy of the people around them.
You do not have to possess psychic powers to be able to feel the vibrations that people emit. This energy is very real on a psychological plane and will affect anyone, anywhere and at any time. We all have a vibrational energy field from the time we begin life on earth and go into a cycle of energetic vibrations throughout our lives.
These are usually unconscious responses to some form of environmental stimulus—something has happened which has caused us to feel inspired, happy, full of joy, or sad, scared, confused, stressed, angry etc. Here is where are five senses come into play: what we hear, see, smell, taste or touch.
Subconsciously we generate a reaction that is commonly expressed through feelings. Our vibrations are generated and projected from these feelings coming out of the subconscious rather than the conscious mind. This is precisely why we often believe that we cannot control our vibrations.
According to modern psychology, there are several theories that explain the origin of feelings and emotions.
One theory, (Evolutionary Psychology) states that our emotions are contained in our genes. Another theory, (Physiologist Theory) states that we feel emotions because our body is feeling something through its five senses (see, hear, touch, smell, and taste). Another yet (Cultural Relativism) holds the view that we feel emotions as a result of our cultural and social conditioning. These theories are all relevant and contribute to the truth about the real origin of emotions.
It is the Cognitive Theory of emotion that states that our feelings and emotions arise as a result of our thoughts. Our conscious thoughts are actually imprinted upon our subconscious mind and eventually form our habits and patterns of behavior. Our attitudes and our views of reality are shaped by this very process.
That is why it is utterly important to pay attention and choose the thoughts with which you feed your conscious mind. Although our thoughts seem to be happening without our intervention and our mind is always busy with literally hundreds of thoughts by the minute, it is important to understand that we are the ones who generate these thoughts, and our thoughts, in turn, generate our subconscious beliefs, patterns, and programs which then are held responsible for generating our feelings.
There are feelings which lead to positive vibrations and those which lead to negative vibrations.
To understand the law of attraction you need to understand first the clear link between your feelings and the vibrations you emit to the universe. Positive vibrations or high vibrations of energy are generated from good feelings such as joy, love, excitement, abundance, confidence, and happiness; whereas negative vibrations are generated from negative feelings or low vibrations of energy, such as afflictive emotions, disappointment, loneliness, sadness, apprehension, confusion, stress, anger, hurt, fear, guilt, and shame.
These vibrations can be controlled by thoughts, attitudes, and actions.
The challenge is how to break through the existing thoughts, attitudes, and actions which come up automatically, and habitually, and, instead, imprint the desired thoughts, attitudes and actions upon our conscious minds which we believe will serve us better.
The mind is a powerful thing. The foundation of any success you are going to encounter is not the ability of your physical body, or finding an external solution to overcome the obstacles and difficult situations in your life, but the ability of your mind to believe that there is a way to overcome these obstacles. “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” When your mind can truly believe that there is a way to overcome any situation, you will quickly achieve your heart’s desire and create the new situation.
It does not matter, really, where you are in life today and what is your present reality. You can change that and get to where you want to be by understanding and using the law of attraction.
Personality is the sum total of the
- Physical body
- Mental faculties (mind)
- Emotional qualities and feelings
- Conscious part of our being (soul or spirit)
Each human being has an organized pattern of behavioral characteristics as a result of the four above components: body, mind, soul and spirit. Human beings also generate their own experience. This means that the attitude through which we approach and view the world together with our belief system, internal values, expectations, perceptions, moral and ethical standards determine our behavior and our experiences.
Exercise for transforming existing patterns of behavior and experiences:
EXAMINE THE MIND –
- What thoughts am I thinking?
EXAMINE THE BODY –
- How do I feel physically?
- Does my body feel comfortable or uncomfortable?
EXAMINE THE SOUL –
- What am I feeling?
- Am I depressed, scared, anxious, nervous, stressed, or worried?
- Am I calm and relaxed?
Depending on your vibrations, you will attract things, circumstances, events, and people around you that vibrate on a common frequency as yours.
